The year is almost ending and we’re about to enter the year 2024. So before we say bye-bye to 2023, let’s backtrack and talk about the top 10 movies of this year and their bluray boxsets.

#10. MEG 2: THE TRENCH
So, just like the last movie, Meg 2 is about a bunch of scientists trying to outsmart these huge megalodons.
But this time, they’ve got a new problem with a sketchy mining operation messing things up. Now, it’s all about survival in a crazy high-stakes showdown.
The movie dropped on August 4, and its Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray hit the shelves on October 24. If you’re checking out Best Buy, they’ve got an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in a cool steelbook.
And guess what?
Both versions come packed with Dolby Atmos sound and some extra footage called “The Making of Meg 2: The Trench” and “Up From the Depths: Even More Beasts.”

#9. TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS
Optimus Prime and the Autobots face their biggest challenge yet.
There’s a crazy new threat that can wipe out the whole planet, so they need to join forces with a super-advanced race of Transformers called the Maximals. It’s a massive team-up for their mega-sized planet-eating problem.
Similar to the film above, the Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray versions come in this cool steelbook with fantastic artwork.
Optimus Prime takes the spotlight on the front, Optimus Primal on the back, and inside, you’ve got both the Maximals and Autobots.
Plus, there’s extra stuff like extended or deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes action packed in there too.

#8. JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4
In John Wick: Chapter 4, the eponymous character figures out a way to take down the High Table.
But here’s the catch: before he can finally get his freedom, Wick has to go head-to-head with a fresh enemy who’s got some serious connections all over the world. It’s gonna be one intense showdown!
Now, if you’re a fan of the films, then you might dig Walmart’s Gift Set.
It’s got a 4K UHD Blu-ray of the film, a cool Marquis pin, 6 collector cards, a slick custom map of Paris, a hotel key card with a themed folder from Osaka Continental Japan, and to top it off, a Comic-Con poster.

#7. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA
So, Ant-Man and the Wasp end up diving deep into the Quantum Realm.
They meet all sorts of weird new creatures and go on this crazy adventure that totally pushes them past what they ever thought they could do. It’s a wild ride beyond their wildest expectations!
The Steel Book edition has 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and digital versions of the movie all in one pack. The case itself looks awesome, showing Ant-Man, the Wasp, and Cassie rocking their hero gear on the cover. Open it up, and you’ll catch a peek of these three without their helmets, chilling in the Quantum Realm.
There’s also some cool extras with this one!
There’s a gag reel, some audio commentary for behind-the-scenes insights, two featurettes giving you more scoop, and a couple of deleted scenes thrown in for good measure. Loads of bonus stuff to dive into!

#6. THE LITTLE MERMAID
Of course The Little Mermaid is in the top 10.
It’s the beloved story of the all-time favorite mermaid, Ariel. She’s super curious about the world above the sea and when she goes up to the surface, she totally crushes on the charming Prince Eric.
Just like many other flicks on the list, the 4K UHD and Blu-ray versions of this movie come in a snazzy steelbook with some seriously stunning artwork.
On the front, you’ve got Ariel chilling on a rock alongside Sebastian, Flounder, and Scuttle, with a gorgeous sunset in the backdrop. Flipping to the back, it’s a far shot of Prince Eric’s castle against that same stunning sunset, with Ursula’s ominous tentacles peeking out from the sea.

#5. SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE
This film revolves around this teenager named Miles Morales who becomes the Spider-Man in his universe. He teams up with five other Spider-People from different dimensions to take down a big threat that’s messing with all kinds of realities.
It’s a wild ride with a bunch of Spideys joining forces to save the day!
This set was dropped around October and packs a Blu-ray disc and a 4K UHD Blu-ray disc. Get this – there’s over 100 minutes of extra cool stuff, like behind-the-scenes action and audio commentary that any fan’s gotta check out.
But wait, there’s more! It comes with a sweet 44-page booklet and 10 postcards featuring different Spider-Man characters. It’s a treasure trove for Spidey lovers!

#4. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, our gang of misfits has gone through some changes.
Peter Quill, still dealing with Gamora being gone, has to pull his team together to save the universe and make sure one of their own stays safe. It’s a whole new adventure for this quirky bunch!
If you’re weighing what type of box set to get for this film, then you might want to consider the Steel Book Edition, though I cannot guarantee that they’re still available. They’re a beaut, that’s why they’re our pick.

#3. OPPENHEIMER
Christopher Nolan directs this biographical drama that tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer. He’s the brainiac physicist who’s basically the big shot behind inventing the atomic bomb.
It’s a movie diving into the life and career of this influential dude!
The Oppenheimer is already available in physical format. It’s Icon Edition is a Walmart Exclusive that includes a 4K UHD disc, 2 blu-ray discs, and a digital copy of the film.

#2. THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE
Alright, so this movie gives us the backstory of Mario and Luigi, who are Italian-American plumbers.
They get sucked into another world and end up caught in a big showdown between the Mushroom Kingdom, ruled by Princess Peach, and the Koopas, led by Bowser. It’s a whole adventure in a different realm for the bros!
The 4K UHD Steel Book edition of the film’s box set is one that boasts a beautiful artwork of the Mushroom Kingdom on the inner side of the metallic packaging.

#1. BARBIE
So, this movie is all about recognizing that Barbie’s got those unrealistic body shapes—y’know, the ones that can mess with how girls see themselves.
But at the same time, it’s all about giving props to Barbie as a feminist symbol. It’s a flick that dives into both those aspects!
