Style Wars is a documentary about the birth of graffiti and how it contributed to the hiphop culture. Directed by Tony Silver and produced by Tony Silver and Henry Chalfant, it was awarded the Grand Prize for Documentaries at the 1983 Sundance Film Festival. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stylewars.com\/\"><strong>STYLE WARS<\/strong><\/a> is regarded as the indispensable document of New York Street culture and subway graffiti art of the early &#8217;80s, the filmic record of a golden age of youthful creativity that exploded into the world from a city in crisis.\nAlex conveys the feeling\u00a0and tone of the time period through color and\u00a0texture. The black and white photography\u00a0symbolizes the grit and poverty of the project\u00a0housing complexes in NY. The color symbolizes\u00a0the hope and positivity that hip-hop brought as an outlet to the youth in the community.\n<a title=\"dvd packaging\"
