Now I'm full and happy. And now you know why I chose cakes for the album art concept of the week. ;-)\nHere are some album artworks with cakes. The image consists of the\u00a0<em>Let It Bleed<\/em> record being played by the tone-arm of an antique phonograph and a record-changer spindle supporting several items stacked on a plate in place of a stack of records: a tape canister labeled<em>Stones &#8211; Let It Bleed<\/em>, a clock face, a pizza, a tire and a cake with elaborate icing topped by figures representing the band members. The cake portion of the stack was designed by cookery writer Delia Smith.\n<strong><em>No Chocolate Cake- Gin Blossoms<\/em><\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/no-chocolate-cake-gin-blossoms-cd-cover-art.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8503\" title=\"no-chocolate-cake-gin-blossoms-cd-cover-art\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/no-chocolate-cake-gin-blossoms-cd-cover-art.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/no-chocolate-cake-gin-blossoms-cd-cover-art.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/no-chocolate-cake-gin-blossoms-cd-cover-art-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>\n\u201cNo Chocolate Cake\u201d is the Gin Blossoms fifth full length album and one of the best alternative albums of the last decade. I have nothing to say about this album artwork because it\u2019s pretty plain. Oh, except that it kinda reminds me of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/similar-album-covers-anal-bums\/\">Bruce Springsteen&#8217;s Born in the USA.<\/a><\/em>\n<em><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/album\/and-someone-left-the-cake-out-in-the-rain-r478859\">And Someone Left the Cake Out in the Rain- Jimmy Webb<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/em>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/717645.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8505\" title=\"classic-songs-jimmy-web-cd-cover-art\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/717645.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\nThis 18-song compilation is an interesting mixture of some of the best-known &#8212; and a few of the least-favored &#8212; versions of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/jimmy-webb-p21352\">Jimmy Webb<\/a>&#8216;s songs.\n<strong><em>Ruining it for everybody- Iwrestledabearonce<\/em><\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/7huu_RuiningItForEverybodyCover_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8506\" title=\"Ruining-It-For-Everybody-cd-cover\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/7huu_RuiningItForEverybodyCover_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/7huu_RuiningItForEverybodyCover_2.jpg 281w, https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/7huu_RuiningItForEverybodyCover_2-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>\nFor the band, the album serves as the ultimate middle finger to expectations, conventions, and the norm. &#8220;We do whatever the fuck we want, and that normally ends up pissing people off,&#8221; he declares. &#8220;We like to take elements from every style and genre and ruin them for everybody.&#8221;\nSo I guess that\u2019s what their artwork is trying to say. Poor cake!\n<strong><em>Heartbeats and Cupcakes-\u00a0 Heartbeats Unlimited<\/em><\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/heartbreak1_640.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8508\" title=\"heartbeats-unlimited-heartbreaks-and-cupcakes-cd-cover\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/heartbreak1_640-520x465.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\nHeartbeats Unlimited released their second mix which aims to raise funds for the AHA (one of the main\u00a0<a href=\"httphttp:\/\/heartbeatsunlimited.com\/2010\/04\/01\/the-american-heart-association\/\"><strong>causes<\/strong><\/a> the Heartbeats crew supports) for your listening pleasure. The mix is free to download, but the girls ask that if you\u2019re diggin\u2019 the tunes, you make a\u00a0<strong>donation to the AHA<\/strong>.\nThis album artwork is very,very, very similar to<em> Kanye West\u2019s Love Lockdown<\/em>. Only difference is this one\u2019s sweeter.\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sj.foodsci.info\/?p=1212\"><em>Whipped Cream and Other Delights<\/em>&#8211; Herb Alpert<\/a><\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/album-cover-crap-88_herb_alpert1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8510\" title=\"album-cover-crap-88-herb-alpert1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/album-cover-crap-88_herb_alpert1-517x530.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\n\u201cWhipped Cream and Other delights\u201d, released in April of 1965, features an album artwork that has a girl covered in whipped cream. There is a lot of food referred to in the song titles. There is mention of lemons, tangerines, peanuts, green peppers, lollipops, and honey. The art was parodied by several groups including Frivolous Five with <em><a href=\"http:\/\/tralfaz-archives.com\/coverart\/F\/frivolous_sour.html\">Sour Cream and Other Delights<\/a><\/em> and the comedian Pat Cooper with his <em>Spaghetti Sauce and Other Delights.<\/em>\n<strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.musicradar.com\/news\/guitars\/the-worst-album-covers-ever-3-illustrated-208902\">Mysterious to Me- Fleetwood Mac<\/a><\/em><\/strong>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/fleetwoodmacmysterytome-530-85.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8511\" title=\"fleetwood-mac-mystery-to-me-cd-cover\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/fleetwoodmacmysterytome-530-85-520x520.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a>\nNot Fleetwood Mac\u2019s finest album artwork but it really does make us wonder why this ape is eating a book and a cake, and wait\u2026are those tears? Most of all, made me wonder what the guys behind this artwork were thinking at the time they were brainstorming.
