This is the industry’s standard maybe because if you place your demo CD in a jewel case or digipak, they would confuse it as an existing album. Also, since it is slim, it would fit perfectly inside your press kit without looking too bulky or awkward. Just make sure you choose good quality slimline cases and try not to choose the very bright, colorful ones so it would not appear tacky. The most important thing is you give importance to the artwork. The scouts get a lot of demos every day and you want to stand out by showing them that you really mean business.

Album/ Audio CD
Audio CDs can come in pretty much any type of packaging but the industry’s standard is the jewel case. This is a choice by many because you can insert booklet and have as many as 4 panels for artwork and shoutouts. Not only that, it also costs a few cents cheaper than other decent cases.

But if you want your album to be more unique and classy, then choose digipacks. The Digipack is made mostly of cardboard paper and has a plastic tray card that is just like that of the jewel case. It may cost a few cents more but it definitely helps your album get the attention it needs.

Seminar Freebies/ Hand-Outs

If you are handing out product demos and freebies, then I guess the first thing that you want to consider in choosing a CD/DVD case is the price. You do not want to give them expensive, elaborate, packaging when you are not even sure that they would buy your products. The options for you are CD wallets, self-mailer jackets, and clam/shell cases. Do not worry, they are not flimsy and they are guaranteed to keep the CDs protected.

Special Edition CDs/ DVDs
The thing about special edition CDs is that you should make the Packaging extra special. Sometimes, it could be the only reason people buy the special editions so you better make it unique and worth the price. It is my advice that you have your packaging customized to increase the product’s value by many folds. Try to get creative and come up with awesome ways to package the CDs. Make sure the design is unforgettable and can grab attention at first glance. The expenses and the timeframe of custom packaging depends on the availability of the materials and the difficulty of execution so you better be prepared for some delays. But trust me, it will certainly pay off.

_____________________________________________________________________

Unified Manufacturing is an L.A. -based one-stop-shop that offers very affordable CD/DVD/USB replication, custom printing, promotional products, warehousing and fulfillment and many more.
