You can show other musician\u2019s fans what talent you have and they may love you for it and even turn into your own fan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the best thing about collaborations is that musicians can build rapport with other musicians and improve their own musicality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>WAYS TO COLLABORATE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are different ways you can collaborate with fellow musicians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So when we hear the word \u201ccollaboration\u201d, what comes to your mind first? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It would obviously be that one song with two or more musicians singing. But that\u2019s not the only way you can collaborate with others. An example is the debut single <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/tracks\/anderson-paak-bruno-mars-leave-the-door-open\/\"><em>Leave the Door Open<\/em><\/a> by Silk Sonic composed of Bruno Mars and Anderson. Fans have been making Spotify playlist for two bands or musicians like \u201cTaylor Swift X One Direction\u201d and more, and they are loving it. What more if it was made from their beloved musician, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>TIPS WHEN COLLABORATING WITH OTHER MUSICIANS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collaborating with other people can be too much for some musicians and I can understand that. So to help musicians who haven\u2019t collaborated with another musician yet but are planning to, we have compiled a list of tips you can follow.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>#1 Do your research<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33497\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Do-your-research-tips-.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When collaborating with an artist for the first time, you need to do your research, a thorough one if you would. It\u2019s important to know the person or people you\u2019ll be working with.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maybe have some research on what they do well or what genre they do best. Moreover, you can answer questions like: \u201cWhat do you like about their music?\u201d and \u201cWhat is your goal in doing a collaboration with them?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>#2 Get to know them<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33498\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Get-to-know-them-tips-in-collaborating.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another way to get to know your collaborator, besides researching about them, is to connect with them. There\u2019s no need to spend a whole day with them actually, you can just contact them to hang out or maybe have coffee together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure that when you\u2019re in the studio or are already recording, there will be no more awkwardness during conversations. Because of this you guys might just decide to do a remote recording, one where you record at home on your own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So if you&#8217;re not very tech savvy, then I suggest you master the technology you\u2019ll be using for your collaboration. Even if you are well-versed with collab techs, there are still some things you might not know, so it\u2019s best to master them beforehand.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>#4 Prepare yourself and your ideas<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-33500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unifiedmanufacturing.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/repare-yourself-and-your-ideas-tips-collaborate.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before coming to the session, it would be best to prepare your ideas about this collaboration you would be doing. When you start brainstorming, maybe you can throw in some ideas about what chord progressions your song can use, what song topic would be best and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can bring your own instrument during the session too, if you want. There will surely be some of your ideas that won\u2019t fit with the idea you guys had, and it\u2019s best to accept that they will be discarded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t try to force ideas, especially if they don\u2019t go well with the team\u2019s message, topic, or something. With those discarded ideas you will have to accept new ones. Remember that your fellow collaborator will also have ideas of their own, so keep your mind open.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And what\u2019s a collaboration without a little bit of exploring? Listen attentively and always admit your mistakes, if you have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It would also be great if you maintain your communication with them even after the collaboration.
