Marina and the Diamonds takes it back to the 90s\/00s with new scratch-n-sniff vinyl records for her upcoming album “Froot.”<\/p>\n

The vinyl\u00a0box set will contain six 7″ vinyl records, each with a different fruity scent. We’re guessing kiwi, blueberry, plum, strawberry, orange, lemon. Releasing a scented album is not new.<\/p>\n

It’s been done before like Katy Perry’s cotton candy scented CD<\/a>\u00a0but it’s still a delight to know that another artist is trying to come up with awesome music packaging. With a lot of people preferring the convenience and affordability of downloads, you really have to make an impressive music packaging to convince them\u00a0that it’s still way\u00a0better\u00a0to buy the hard format.<\/p>\n

Vinyl records made a comeback<\/a> in the mid 2000s\u00a0as bands are turning to the medium to put music in fans’ hands in the age of digital downloading\/streaming.
