Why Vinyl Never Goes Out of Style

I grew up with hundreds of records in our house because my dad is a major vinyl geek.  He treats each one of them like a newborn baby-always with clean hands and only with the gentlest touch.  And almost everytime, I see him beaming with pride when he arranges his records oh so carefully. I remember his friends coming over to our house and they would talk endlessly about music and their collection for hours while sipping some good wine.

That was ages ago. New formats came-cassettes, then CDs, and now almost everything is digital-but still my dad’s love for vinyl never faded. When the CDs came, I asked him why he still sticks with vinyl. He said, “They’re more than just a storage device for music to me. It’s an artform in itself unlike the cassette tapes and CDs. I do not want to collect those”. Maybe it’s because of nostalgia, or maybe it’s because the vinyl has a sophisticated appeal, or maybe it’s because vinyl looks more artistic than the flimsy and disposable CDs.  Ultimately, Vinyls have higher value compared to the other formats therefore it is easy to conclude that they will always be around.
