Today, one of the biggest problems that the world is facing is global warming. We have neglected and abused the world for so many decades and it’s about time we do something to save it before it gives up on us completely.More and more musicians are joining the Green Movement. Green Album Packaging
If you want to convince others to become part of the green movement, you have to lead by example. Start with using biodegradable materials for your album’s CD packaging. Use CD cases that are made of 100% recycled paper like eco-wallets, paperfoam tray digipaks, or Mini jackets and eliminate the use of shrink wrap and bubble wraps if possible.
Use Soy-based ink for your CDs and posters
As opposed to traditional petroleum-based ink, soy-based ink is more eco-friendly because it is made of soybeans and the production emits less carbon.
Aside from it being good to the environment, these biodegradable inks produce some of the richest and most vibrant colors. One major disadvantage is that it takes more time to dry than petroleum-based inks, due to its lack of evaporative solvents. This creates challenges for some CD Manufacturing companies in their speed of production.
Donate to Green Organizations
You can donate a portion of your album sales to organizations working on climate change, renewable energy, and other green causes.Do some research on green organizations (there are numerous!) and learn about what they do before you donate financial assistance.

Biodiesel oil is a man made fuel that is better for the environment and less expensive than using natural resources which are becoming more and more scarce. Biodiesel oil is an alternative diesel fuel demonstrated to have significant environmental benefits in terms of decreased global warming, reduced emissions, greater energy independence and a positive impact on agriculture. The main ingredient in biodiesel oil is usually soybean oil which is in abundant supply and with the advantage of being very cheap to produce.
Green concerts
Join concerts that promote environmental awareness and raise money for green organizations. If there are no green concerts in your area, take the lead and organize it on your own! You can also team up with organizations and companies that support the Green Movement so you will have some sponsors for the concert.
Voice your support
Musicians are one of the most influential artists in the world. Woodstock 69 reminds us that music is so powerful that it can move a nation and start a culture. People around the world look up to musicians not only because of their music but also because of their personality, style, and philosophies. Influence your fans to go green by voicing out your support. You can blog and twitter about your advocacy, you can say something about it during interviews, and most importantly you have to lead by example every single day and in every single way.
