Production | Kieran Joel

Styling | Leena Zimmermann

German designers Zwölf fired pellets into the CD covers of Elyjah’s latest album, Planet, Planet(Klimbim Records/Cargo). These guys surely had a lot of fun shooting all 2,000 covers and receiving 2 prestigious awards afterward.  This CD packaging won Gold at the European Design Award and Silver at the Art Directors Club.

Included in the package are old-looking pictures of the band dressed as if they’re on a hunt in the 1920s. They put the band in Herr von Eden suits  and then printed the large-format photos shot by Norman Konrad by hand.

They also used old fonts: Memphis, from Emil Rudolph Weiß (1929) and the Wieynck Gotisch from Heinrich Wieynck (1926) – which were printed on an old Heidelberg printing machine.
