Who needs a record label PR machine when cool blogs will help you spread the word for free?

This week, two more popular indie music bloggers Gorilla vs. Bear and Weekly Tape Deck start their very own record label called Forest Family Records. Limited runs of 7”, 10” and 12” vinyl plus cassettes by some brand new artists are in planning stages, and a Cults 7″ is already for sale.

As music lovers and writers who have found an audience that trusts them, isn’t it really a logical next step?

Blogs are becoming more and more popular  and many people take advantage of its popularity for promotion and marketing. Almost everyone has access to the internet daily and in fact, most people are more intimate to their laptops than to their neighbors and relatives. So it is without a doubt that the internet is one of the best ways to get noticed fast.

Starting a blog costs nothing but if managed properly, one can get a lot of profit from google or from your blog’s sponsors, not to mention the profit  from the actual product that you’re selling.

Way to go guys!
