Avoid Unnecessary CD Duplication Expenses

No one wants to spend a dollar more on anything. Not on coffee, not on a shirt, and certainly not on CD manufacturing. I am sure you’re willing to spend all your hard-earned dollars for your craft but you want to maximize your cash. You want to make sure every cent goes to something useful and not just in the pockets of businessmen.

Here are some ways you can avoid additional expenses in CD duplication:

Just use the service you really need. Some CD duplication companies have “packages” for their clients that include distribution, online order system, and all that jazz (we do). These are helpful services but if you’re counting the last stack of cents, don’t choose these all-in-one packages. You have the option to just have the CDs and nothing more. No extras and fluff. Gently ask your project manager to remove all the not-so-necessary services because you can only afford the actual CD duplication.

Don’t rush your CD duplication house. Rush fees cost $50 or more depending on the type of project and the number of copies. To avoid this extra fee, don’t rush your project. Submit your stuff as early as you can or just move the release date.

Make sure artwork has no errors. This is obvious but it’s one of the main causes of delay. Some people just don’t know how to use templates. You should also check margins, check photo quality, check bleeds…and other things to check to avoid artwork issues. Go to your CD duplication house’s website and ask for the artwork requirements. Make sure you’re using your CD duplicator’s template because each CD duplication house has their own measurements for their CD cases since they probably have different suppliers. Remember, you will pay additional fees if you want anything fixed by their graphic designers.

Choose a local CD duplication company. Why pay additional $100 for shipping when you live close to a CD duplication house? Saves you lots of dollars on shipping plus you’ll be helping your community.

Don’t make too many revisions. Each revision costs lots of money, effort, and time. And we know that time wasted is money wasted. If you do not want to make thousands of revisions, brainstorm properly before even letting your graphic designer start. Make up your mind and respect what you have agreed upon.
