Los Angeles, CA (April 2013) – The blu-ray album Unified Manufacturing made for Patricia Barber’s MODERN COOL won in the 55th Grammy Awards in the category of Best Surround Sound.

The awards were given to highly-respected recording engineers Darcy Proper and Jim Anderson on the 55th Grammy Awards held last Feb. 10, 2013. Proper is a four-time Grammy award winner and has received seven additional nominations. She is currently with Wisseloord Studio in Belgium. Before working at Wisseloord, Darcy was senior mastering engineer at Galaxy Studios in Belgium and at Sony Music Studios in New York City. She has worked on a wide range of music including mastering historical reissue albums for BLouis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, among others.

Jim Anderson is a New York based recording engineer and producer who specializes in jazz and acoustic music. He has recorded music for has recorded projects for Toshiko Akiyoshi, Terence Blanchard, James Carter, Jon Fadis, Joe Henderson, and many others. During 1999 -2000, he was the Chairman of the New York Section of the Audio Engineering Society and is currently the AES Vice President for Eastern Sections. Four of his recordings have received Grammy awards and eighteen have received nominations.
